Allen Craig Parsons

March 1, 1945 ~ October 6, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Weatherford ~ Allen Craig "Ace" Parsons died October 6, 2017 in Weatherford.

Graveside is 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth.  The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Rev. Kevin Welborn will officiate.

Allen was born on March 1, 1945 to Douglas and Reba Faye (Craig) Parsons in Austin.  He was united in marriage to Judy Sparks on June 1, 1968 in Fort Worth.  Allen proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army.  He was member of Friendship Baptist Church in Weatherford.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ace was a hard worker in retail management for over 40 years and his focus was his family. He wanted to be able to give his kids the things he didn’t have. He was a loving husband, great father to his 3 kids and wonderful “Pops” to his 5 grandchildren. He loved his country and was proud of his military service. He had a heart of gold and a selfless character. He could also stop you misbehaving with just one look. You could often find him in his favorite chair surrounded by the pets he loved like family and that loved him right back. Of them all, Muffin has always held a particularly special place in his heart.

He enjoyed taking cruises with his wife taking trips to Las Vegas, watching sports on TV, playing golf and he never missed a game that any of his kids or grandkids played.

His children say they owe their incredible sense of humor to him as well. Always quick with a joke, he could always be counted on for a laugh. He leaves us with thousands of stories that we will tell again and again and laugh just as hard every time. He taught us how to work hard, to put family first, that you can always forgive and that no matter the situation, laughing is the best solution. He will be missed forever.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Judy Parsons of Weatherford; his sons, Craig Parsons and partner Scott of Dallas and Josh Parsons and wife Felicia of Fort Worth; his daughter, Amber Caye Porter and husband Justen of Weatherford; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Kole, Preston, Pickle, and Grey; his brothers, Jimmy Parsons, and George Parsons and wife Bobbye; his sisters, Sondra Kirby and Sue Mask and husband Ronnie; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
