David Trent Deaton

Boyd ~ David Deaton, 63, of Boyd, a retired salesman, went to be with our Lord Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Boyd. 

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Boyd with burial in Aurora Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Rev. Terry Terry and  Kelly Fry will officiate.  Pallbearers include Kelly Fry, Rex Harris, Trey Lutrell, Dennis Tidwell, Mark Romine, Jack Argraves, Ronnie Brown, and Jim Bradley.  Honorary pallbearers are Sam Gibbons, Tom Barton, Danny Willbanks, Blake Bost, Brian Dickey, Pete Lugo, Garrett Tidwell and Taylor Ponder.

David was born on January 19, 1953 to Hugh and Zelma (Brammer) Deaton in Decatur, Texas.  He was united in marriage to Kim Jones on April 4, 1985 in Boyd, Texas.  David graduated from Boyd High School in 1971 and later served on the Boyd School Board. He played football for University of North Texas and the in 1976 for the New York Giants. David retired from All State Belting as a salesman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Kim Jones Deaton of Boyd; his son, Dex Deaton and fiancé Brynna Krough of Dallas; his brother, Paul Deaton and wife Barbie of Fort Worth; his sister, Mary Beth Fennewald and husband Rick of Decatur; his brother, Joel Sollee and wife Ann of Rhome; his sister, Carolyn Pittman and husband Buddy of Trophy Club; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
