Jerry Oscar Thetford

Bridgeport ~ Jerry Oscar Thetford, 77, farmer and rancher, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Bridgeport.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Boonsville Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Kevin Casey will officiate.

Jerry was born on March 2, 1940 to Joe and Mary (Castleberry) Thetford in Bridgeport. He retired from General Dynamics and also worked for Acme Brick. Jerry was a Baptist. He always had a story to tell. Jerry farmed, ranched, traded, bought and sold cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sue Ann Thetford; and his brother, Joe Mac Thetford.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his best friend Todd Cantrell and wife Bridy of Bridgeport; numerous friends from the county, auctions, trade days, live stock auctions and the community throughout his life.
