David was born to Lemuel and Nell Criswell on July 17, 1941 in Tarrant County, TX. In 1968 he graduated with a Ph.D. from the Space Physics Department at Rice University. Dr. Criswell was a noted space physicist with many science publications and worldwide patents. In his professional life, he was passionate about and most noted for his Lunar Solar Power system to build bases on the Moon to beam clean, renewable energy from the Sun to the Earth. People often said he was a man ahead of his time. In his personal life, he was a devoted, funny, sweet husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In every sense, the world will be much the poorer without him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Paula Robertson Criswell; children, Beth Criswell Kaduboski and Brice Criswell; bonus children, Renee Craig, Russell Robertson, and Ramsey Robertson; grandchildren, Meryl Kaduboski, Dean Kaduboski, Brendan Kaduboski, Boden Criswell, and Nathan Criswell; bonus grandchildren, Adam Craig, Christine Ramsey, Paul (PJ) Robertson, Jenna Robertson, and Macie Robertson; bonus great-grandchildren, Hudson Ramsey and Rylie Ramsey; his siblings, Claudia Hatchell and Tom Criswell; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
