Jan Buckner

Chico ~ Jan Buckner, 71, manager and co-owner of Chico Butane Gas Company went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Cumby cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.

Rev. Gary Demmitt will officiate. Pallbearers include Ocie Barker, Colby Hunt, Todd Buckner, Randel Buckner, Wilford Buckner, Mark Buckner, Kooper Martin and Grant Barksdale.

Jan was born August 1, 1947, to Buford and Mary Lou (Nunley) Barker in Ft. McKinley, Philippines. She moved to Chico in 1964 and raised by her parents, Charlie and Mary Vaughn. Jan was united in marriage to G.A. Buckner on June 24, 1966 in Chico, Texas.  She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Chico 4-H, the American Dairy Goat Association and a charter member of Chico Young Farmers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her Dad, Charlie Vaughn.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, G.A. Buckner; her daughters, Kelly Martin and husband Maury of Chico, Tammy Buckner of Chico and Cindy Barksdale and husband Arnie of Chico; grandchildren, Haylee, Michaela, Kooper, Taylor, Grant and Cambrie; her mother, Mary Vaughn of Chico; her sisters, Linda Lucas of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Debra Jackson of Decatur; her brothers, Randy Vaughn and wife Lisa of Virginia and Richard Barker of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In Lieu of flowers a donation to Raquelswingsforlife.com , they flew her for treatments to MD Anderson and charged nothing.
