Decatur ~ Laura Walker, 92, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Sunday, November 25, 2018, in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pastor Ronnie Brooks will officiate. Pallbearers include Eric Ross, Ronald Willis, Jonathan Ross, Brison Robertson, Donald Willis, and Joe Driver.
Laura was born on June 10, 1926, to Oscar and Thressa (Brooks) Gardner in Dallas, Texas. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Walker in 1955, in Hereford, Texas. Laura was a member of St John Baptist Church in Decatur. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Frances E. Ross; 2 brothers; 2 sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry W. Ross and wife Heidi of Florida, Charles L. Ross and wife Anita of Decatur; her daughters, Jonnie Walker Martin and husband William of Port Arthur, Texas, Ruth Walker of Decatur; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; her brother, Charles T. Gardner and wife Donna of Georgia; her sister Johnnie M. McGruder of Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Memorials may be made to American Red Cross.
