Decatur ~ Lela Frances Garrett Janecka, 85, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Monday, November 25, 2019 in Decatur.
Mass of Christian Burial is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Father Reehan Antony will officiate. Pallbearers include, Brent Milligan, Kyle Stephens, Larry Stenzel, Steve Bennett, Doug Janecka, and Rudy Janecka.
Lela was born on August 19, 1934 to William Bascum and Brettie (White) Garrett in Denton, Texas. She was united in marriage to Julius Frank Janecka Jr. on June 25, 1950 in Allison Baptist Church near Decatur, Texas. Lela was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julius Frank Janecka Jr; and her son, James Michael Janecka.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deborah Black and husband Richard, and Doyce Gonzales and husband Levi all of Decatur; her granddaughter, Lindsay Cavasos and husband Eric, and Rachel Rodriguez and husband Luis all of Decatur; her great-grandsons, Cole, Rylan, Blane, Slate Cavasos, and Nick Rodriguez all of Decatur; and her great-granddaughter, Leah Rodriguez of Decatur; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family request donations be made to the American Heart Association and Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
