Melanie Bradley

Bridgeport ~ Melanie Renea Bradley, 48, daughter of Floyd and Ruth Bradley, was born February 7, 1970, and passed from this life on September 5, 2018 in Bridgeport, Texas. Though she lost her brave battle with cancer, she rarely complained and faced her struggles with courage.

Funeral is 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with a private family burial. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age, and was a member of Twin Oaks Assembly of God Church.  She loved her church family and missed them so much during her stay at the nursing home.

Melanie was an avid sports fan, and especially liked the Chicago Cubs and the Dallas Mavericks.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she looked forward each year for the Bryant family reunion.  It seems fitting that God would call her home the week of the family reunion down here, while she experienced a beautiful reunion in heaven. 

Melanie loved music and had a large collection of recordings that she listened to many times.  Some of her favorites were Amy Grant, Carman, Martina McBride, and Michael W. Smith.  She loved Dairy Queen blizzards and shakes, and, of course, Dr. Pepper.  

Melanie is no longer in pain, and we have peace that she was escorted by the angels to a standing ovation from her Savior welcoming her to her eternal home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Bradley; and by her nephew, Justin Bradley.

Melanie is survived by her mother, Ruth Bradley of Bridgeport; her brothers, Ray Bradley and wife Teresa of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Troy Bradley and wife Darlene of Bedford, and Greg Bradley and wife Laura of Pilot Point; numerous nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and many cousins who will miss her very much.
