Raymond Dickey Obituary

Rhome ~ Raymond Reece Dickey, 81, went to be with our Lord Friday, August 30, 2019 in Haskell, Texas.
 
Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
 
Rev. John Bickham will officiate. Pallbearers include Bo Jennings, Roger Reynolds, Jody Gregg, and Randy Dietzmann.
 
Raymond was born on September 21, 1937 to Merlin Henry and Lillie Mae (Anderson) Dickey in Rhome, Texas. He was united in marriage to Christine Dietzmann on February 26, 1971 in Durant, Oklahoma. Raymond proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a truck driver of 30 plus years, was member of the Baptist Church, Plumber and Steamfitters Union local 146, 50 plus year’s member of the Boyd Masonic Lodge No. 479 as a 32nd Degree Shriner. Raymond deeply loved his children and grandchildren and we all fought to be his favorite. Raymond was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Christine Dickey, his brothers, Emmitt Wayne Dickey, and Allen Poe Dickey; his sister, Jackie Ruth Malone; his nephew, Roger Dale Moore; his brothers-in laws, A.T. Moore,  Grover Malone, and Charles Deitzmann; and his sister in law, Janet Deitzmann.
 
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Cricket Walden and husband Jimmy of Forestburg, Kathy Jackson and husband Chris of Decatur, Tony Ray Dickey and wife Sandra of Decatur, Joey Dickey and Kelley of Alvord, and Steven Seagraves of Arkansas; his brother, Jimmy Dickey and wife Norma of San Angelo, and Tony Dickey and wife Dorris of Rhome; his sisters, Marie Moore of Rhome, and Berta Gilbert and husband Dalton of Crowley; Sue Dickey of Azle and Judy Dickey of Boyd; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his companion of many years Betty Caldwell; and a host of friends.
