Runaway Bay ~ Terence Wade Akard, 19, went to be with our Lord Thursday, July 18, 2019, in Decatur.
 
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service on at the funeral home.
 
Pastor Doc Dennis will officiate.

Terence was born on January 23, 2000, to Alan Wayne Akard and Carrie Bernice Meitzner in Denton, Texas. He worked for DFW Ponds as a general laborer and was a member of Full Armor Fellowship Church in Decatur.  Terence He was a member of the William F Halsey Battalion for 5 years, most recently serving as a Midshipman. Terence had a love for the Lord and enjoyed being a part of the youth ministry at his home church. Just last week he attended youth camp as a mentor to the younger teens. Terence had a big heart when it came to loving others; especially those younger than himself who he could lead and encourage.
 
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his father, Alan Akard and wife Sandy of Runaway Bay; his mother, Carrie Meitzner of Sanger; his brother, Leslie Hardin of Chico; his sister, P.J. Hardin of Chico; his sister, Jessica Bolduc of Tampa, Florida; his brother, Jeffrey Akard of Paradise; his brother, Brian Alcorn of Fort Worth; his sister, Jessica Alcorn of Fort Worth; his grandparents, Jerry B. Glover of California, and Betty “Memaw” Raines of Alpine; his uncles, Matt Meitzner, Kurt Meitzner, Garrick Meitzner all of Florida, and Fred G. Glover of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
