Bridgeport~ Cody Wayne Jobe, 42, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in Decatur.
Cody was born on September 6, 1980 in Bridgeport. He is survived by his wife, Madeline Mercer; his two sons, Cason and Caden Jobe; his mother, Sherrie King and husband Dennis; his father, Scotty Jobe and wife Debra; his brother, Chase Jobe; his sister, Cheyenne McCleod and husband Jacob; his grandparents, Chuck and Christene Jobe; his grandmother, Ruth Starnes; numerous extended family and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Eddie Starnes.
Cody was an avid New Orleans Saints Fan, and a lover of all things New Orleans, especially the seafood. He worked in the oil field industry for 18 years and always took great pride in his work. Cody was very knowledgeable and built many business-initiated friendships along the way. He was the type of guy that would stay late, lend a hand after hours or cancel personal engagements to make sure everyone had what they needed. Cody had an infectious smile, and a heart bigger than he could hold.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rev. Melvin Castleberry will officiate.
Pallbearers will include, Brian Cox, Travis Dunlap, Cody Deaton, Gary Crowley, Tony Shields, Roger Stiles, Rusty Garner, and Chase Jobe.
