Delbert Doyle White

Decatur ~ Delbert Doyle White, 90, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

Memorial is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with visitation 1 hour prior to service.

Delbert was born July 15, 1930, to Caliwa Franklin White and Grace Elaine Morgan White in Grannis, Ark. He was united in marriage in 1957 to Nina Marie Gentry in Gillham, Ark. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Delbert was a retired aircraft mechanic and was proud to carry top security clearance while working on Air Force One during President Reagan’s term.

He was the founder and rhythm guitar picker for the family bluegrass gospel band, Whitehouse Harmony. He traveled all over playing bluegrass festivals, churches and various other venues. He was a familiar face at the local Whataburger, often found drinking coffee with his friends and swapping lies.

Delbert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Caliwa and Grace White and his six siblings.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Nina Marie White; his daughters, Debra Sinclair and husband, Rick, of Decatur, Lisa Simon and husband, Randy, of Decatur; his son, Douglas White and wife, Lori, of Decatur; five granddaughters, Andrea McKinnon and husband, Trey, Alyssa Folsom and husband, Maury, Haylie Simon, Hanna Scotton and husband, Dezmond, and Haven Barlow and husband, Cody; three grandsons, Caliwa White and wife, Vianey, Jordan Sinclair and wife, Kim, and Jacob Sinclair; his great-grandchildren, Jayci, Treb and Cove McKinnon, Ryett, Ryder and Gracie White, Sawyer Harfield, Emery and Avery Sinclair, and Marek and Ariyah Scotton; numerous extended family members; and a host of friends who he loved.
