Chico ~ Donilla Faye Cox, 94, went to be with our Lord Friday, December 7, 2018, in Bridgeport.
Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2018, in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.
Rev. Brad Gilbert will officiate. Honorary pallbearers include Brian Hoyt, David Vilbig, Larry Hardin, Dave Marrs, Steve Leaf, Brad Leaf, Robert Cox, Brian Cox, and Jimmy Cox.
Donilla was born September 29, 1924 to Roy B. and Iva Elizabeth (Nimmo) Cheves in Vinyard, Texas. She was united in marriage to John Q. Cox on May 5, 1956. Donilla was an accountant and secretary for the City of Fort Worth. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chico.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.Q. Cox; her granddaughter, Leslie Denison; her grandson, Walter Dean Leaf; and her brother, Norris Cheves.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Connie E. Leaf and husband Steve of Elmer, Oklahoma; her son, Kent Cox and wife Marcie of Chico; her grandchildren, Brian Cox and wife Marisa, Bradley J. Leaf and wife Shelly, Hayli Hardin and husband Larry, Jeff Berres and wife Bryce, and Jamie Knochelmann and husband Andrew; her 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
