Geraldine Baker Obituary

Bridgeport ~ Geraldine “Gerry” Baker, 78, went to be with our Lord Friday, May 31, 2019, in Bridgeport.
 
Memorial service to be announced at a later date.
 
Gerry, as she preferred to be called, was born July 29, 1940, to Buford D. and Rosa Belle (Fitzgerald) Shaver in Roswell, New Mexico. She married James Wilson Baker, November 19, 1961 in Farmington, New Mexico; he proceeded her in death, November 26, 1986. She lived in Farmington, New Mexico for 30 years prior to coming back to Texas in April of 2016, was a homemaker, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.   She was a very talented pianist as well as a talented needle worker and created many beautiful pieces of art through counted cross stitch, crochet, knitting and painting.  She loved her dogs and cats and spent countless hours fly fishing in the rivers of southern Colorado: even tied her own flies.  She was an avid reader, laughed often and always had a smile.  Gerry was also proceeded in death by her parents.
 
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, James Baker of Fort Worth; her daughters, Shelley Moore of Midland and Jana McCallister of El Paso; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
