Jerry Don McGuire

Chico~ Jerry Don McGuire, 74, went to be with our Lord on Friday, April 16, 2021 in Denton.

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with burial in Olive Branch cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Mike Miller will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Michael Eudy, Alan Kohn, Jericoe McGuire, Zacharie Eudy, Chandler Hopkins, Harvee Kohn, Kevin "Smiley" Lemond and Craig Cowley.

Jerry was born on November 26, 1946 to Wilson Brady and Hazel Pearl (Matthews) McGuire in Ft. Worth, Texas. Jerry graduated from Chico High School and was a life long resident of Chico. He worked in the Oilfield for many years and spent most of his time being a Rancher doing what he loved. He was a member of Morris Memorial Methodist Church. Jerry was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, good friend, and neighbor, who will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Carol McGuire.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Ronnie McGuire and wife Tamara; Tommy McGuire and wife Lynda; Angie Eudy and husband Michael all of Chico, and Derinda Kohn and husband Alan of Burleson; his grandchildren, Aleesa McGill and husband Phil, Charlotte Tate, Jericoe McGuire and wife Brianna, Zacharie Eudy, Makenna Eudy, Chandler Hopkins, Zoie Kohn, and Harvee Kohn; his 9 great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Barbara McGuire; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; his Western Swing Dance Community family; and a host of friends.
