Julian Ramirez, 84, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. He was born on January 1, 1938 to Pablo Ramirez and Francisca Gallegos in Rio Bravo, Coahuila Mexico. He was the last surviving member of his family.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow at Mexican Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Melvin Castleberry to officiate. Pallbearers are to include, Robert Vidal, Zach Vidal, Jeff Silletti, Julio Ortega, Ernest Herrera, and David Jackson. Honorary bearers are to be Calvin Morales, Eugene Marshall and Dickie Dunn.

Julian came to Cisco, Texas at the age of 16 with his two uncles in 1954. In 1956, he moved to Chillicothe, Texas for a short time, then moved on to Bridgeport, Texas. This is when he met the love of his life, Deloris “Lola” Martinez. They were united in marriage on March 8, 1958.

Julian was a Christian man, he loved dancing with the love of his life, loved his children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. He loved gardening, sitting on his front porch listening to music, playing cards and dominos.

Julian worked at Acme Brick for many years. He also worked in the rock crusher industry for several years.

Julian and Deloris were married 62 years until her passing January 12, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris; his parents; brothers and sisters; his son, Johnny Martinez; his two grandsons, Robbin Martinez and Everson Dunn; and two great-grandsons, Lane Marshall and Michael Stokes.

He is survived by his children; Raymond Martinez and girlfriend, Sue of Decatur, Julian Ramirez of Bridgeport, Texas, Reba Dunn and husband Dickie of Bridgeport, Michael Ramirez of Bridgeport, Mary Marshall and husband Eugene of Bridgeport, Donna Morales and husband Calvin of Chico, and Paul Ramirez and wife Norma of Caddo, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
