Ruth Bradley Obituary

Bridgeport~ Ruth Magil Bradley, 90, went to be with our Lord on Monday, November 28th , 2022 in Bridgeport.
 
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 Thursday at the funeral home.
 
Rev. Troy Bradley will officiate. Pallbearers are to include, Kevin Jones, Jeff Jones, Brian Culver, David Reyes, Jimmie Hoover, and Caiden Boren. Honorary Pallbearers are Kenneth Jones, Wayne Bradley and Lary Gober.
 
Ruth was born on March 15, 1932 to James and Hessie (Wigington) Bryant in Portales, New Mexico. Ruth was united in marriage to Floyd Troy Bradley on March 18th, 1950 in Bridgeport, Texas together 57 wonderful years until his passing on May 11th, 2007. Three sons were born to this union: Louis Ray, Troy, and Greg. Floyd and Ruth adopted a daughter, Melanie, in 1970.
 
Ruth was gifted with amazing cooking skill and she was an award-winning crafter. Ruth felt her calling was teaching. She taught Sunday School for many years and retired from teaching Kindergarten for Bethel Christian Day School in Arlington where her career spanned over 20 years. She was also active in teaching girls in Missionettes and directed Women’s Ministries into her 80s.
 
Ruth was a missionary mama and led all her kids to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. She and Floyd lived Godly lives before their children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love to play games and for her great sense of humor. She faced life with hope, enthusiasm, and encouragement.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hessie Bryant; her husband, Floyd Troy Bradley; her daughter, Melanie Renea Bradley; her grandson, Justin Bradley; and her siblings, Raymond, James, Dawson, Joe, Eldon, Ella, Zula, and Frank Bryant.
 
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Louis Ray Bradley and wife Teresa of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Troy Bradley and wife Darlene of Bedford, and Greg Bradley and wife Laura of Pilot Point; her grandchildren, Angie Bradley, Amy Culver and husband, Brian, Monica Boren and husband Michael, Cameron Bradley, Maddison Paige Bradley, Brianna Hoover and husband Jimmie, and Taylor Reyes and husband, David; her 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Jones and husband Kenneth; and her sister-in-law, Mary Bryant; numerous extended family members and friends.
