Decatur ~ Tommie Riggs Fox, 95, formerly of Decatur died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Fort Worth.

A private family service will be held at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with Rev. Louis Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Dr. Jerry Watson II, Barry Watson, Byron Watson, Henry Cox Rudy II, Ron Goodwin, Jerry Watson, Henry Rudy, and Bob Riek.

Tommie was born February 18, 1919 to George Lewis and Mary Ann (Moody) Riggs in Denton, Texas. She married Joe Lee Fox in 1938 in Decatur, Texas. She was a homemaker, worked in retail, and helped her husband raise cattle. Tommie's greatest joy was time spent with her family; her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enthusiastically hosted and attended countless family events, dinners, birthday parties, piano/voice recitals, graduations, weddings, and sports events. She enjoyed anything and everything her children and grandchildren participated in.  Her family and friends especially looked forward to her homemade fudge, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate and coconut pies.  Tommie loved being "Baba" to her granddaughter Leigh Jenai Goodwin and grandsons Dr. Jerry Watson II, Barry Watson, Henry Cox Rudy II, and her great grandchildren.

Tommie's faith and love for the Lord was an important part of her life. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, parents, and her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Fox Watson and husband Jerry of Decatur, Neva Fox Rudy and husband Henry of Fort Worth; son, Albert Lee Fox and wife Pamela of Frankfort, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, Erik Scott Low, Breece Aidana Low, Sylvia Rose Watson, Amelia Grace Watson, Lindsey Riggs Watson, Nathan Ernest Watson, Ethan Tyler Watson, and Mary Elsie Watson; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
